Aloe Vera has been used for medicinal purposes for over 3,000 years for the treatment of ailments ranging from skin burns to arthritis. Aloe is cultivated for use in thousands of commercial products and is particularly prevalent in cosmetics and moisturisers.
Aloe is a succulent which, similar to the snake plant, orchids and bromeliads, differs from most houseplants because it released oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide during the night. This makes Aloe a popular plant for bedrooms.
